Note: This is the 106th entry in the list, and not the 106th Apple-1 produced. The Apple-1 does not have a regular serial number. Only some Apple-1 have a handwritten serial number.
The serial number on the back of the Apple-1 was most likely written by Steve Jobs. According to available information, a forensic analysis has not yet been performed for this Apple-1. However, for some other Apple-1s with a serial number on the back, it has been confirmed that it is Steve Jobs' handwriting. More information.
The accompanying in-house copy of the Apple Basic Manual bears a crossed-through address stamp of Bill Fernandez, Apple’s first full-time employee and co-builder of the Cream Soda Computer with Steve Wozniak. According to Sotheby's: Evidence of 1977 repair by Apple between B2 and B3 with resistor added to solder side. Computer has been stable and regularly operated, most recently on May 20, 2026 during the promotional video shoot. It is published, who has done it.
Purchased circa late 1976 by Harry Saddler at the Byte Shop, 1514 University Avenue, Berkeley, California.
It remained with its original purchaser, who consigned it to Sotheby’s for auction on July 15, 2026, with an estimate of US$300,000–500,000.
Remarks on the 2026 auction: The condition report, normally a document running to several pages, was made available only three days before the auction and only after repeated requests. The so-called “condition report” itself consists of just three short paragraphs and an Excel spreadsheet listing the ICs.

Many ICs are not original and replaced: 2513, 2519, 7410, 74160, all 5 74161, 74166, 74174, 74175, 7404, 7450 and DS0025. The replacements are not brand- or period-correct.
